The central Advanced Analytics team at the Abbott Established Pharma Division’s (EPD) headquarters in Basel helps define and lead the transformation towards becoming a global, data-driven company with the help of data and modern data technologies (e.g. Machine Learning, Deep Learning). To us, Advanced Analytics is an important lever to reach our business targets, now and in the future; It helps differentiate ourselves from our competition and ensure sustainable revenue growth at optimal margins. Hence the central AA team is an integral part of the Strategy Management Office at EPD that has a very close link and regular interactions with the EPD Senior Leadership Team.
With the above requirements in mind, EPD is looking to fill a role of an AA Engagement Manager who would be a key member of the newly created central Advanced Analytics team. This role would be specifically accountable for building up new structures and assets to engage with the world-wide EPD organization on the topic of Advanced Analytics, to generate buy in and lay the foundation for active collaboration on applying Advanced Analytics to drive business impact for the company.
The AA engagement manager needs a solid understanding of what advanced analytics/ machine learning is and how it can be applied successfully in organizations like Abbott EPD as well as a proven ability to engage with different stakeholders from various functions and with various background to make this topic more concrete to them and emphasize how this can help them in their everyday work. An important aspect is also to help connect people active in the advanced analytics space and help create a trusted world-wide Advanced Analytics community within EPD.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Establish an objective-based communication and engagement plan for AA with clear KPIs
Build an initial but comprehensive set of communication, capability building, community building and “engagement” assets along key EPD channels
Validate/test and refine key assets mentioned below in quick pilots and learn/refine
The AA Engagement Manager will work in close collaboration with the rest of the Advanced Analytics team and key business stakeholders but have no direct reports. The position includes coaching of working students and interns.
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Required:
Degree in technology, mathematics with proven ability to communicate and evangelize on the topic of modern data technologies in organizations and/or communications and marketing degree with a proven ability to successfully apply these skills in the domain of modern data technology
Several years of relevant working experience, combining modern data technologies with communication/marketing/community building, ideally in pharma environment
Demonstrated ability to engage with senior executives and senior business as well as technical stakeholders.
Proven, impactful ideation and problem-solving ability in international and cross-functional settings
Effective communication and influencing skills, solid experience in bridging between Advanced Analytics / modern data technologies and business.
Proven experience in conveying how to apply data science methods, data and analytics to business problems
Self-starter, used of bringing urgency to the tasks at hand
Ability to multitask
Being adaptable towards new situations and having an out of the box approach
Accountability for delivering high quality results
Intrinsic motivation to guide people and make Advanced Analytics more accessible to a broader range of stakeholders. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and bring business and data science closer together – strategy consultancy experiences a strong plus
Fluency in English a must, additional languages a plus
