How do we help customers live well for less? By getting great stock in the right quantities. As an Assistant Merchandiser, you’ll play a key role in making sure we achieve sales, profit and stock targets for a particular non-food department or product category. But most importantly, you’ll help us to be bold and do the right thing for our customers. Because they’re at the heart of everything.
It’s a hugely varied role, as you help the Merchandiser to implement every aspect of our department strategy. With support from the Merchandiser and Junior Merchandiser, you’ll work with the buying to team to review trading performance, identify opportunities, and prepare analyses and forecasts. The insight you provide will help us optimise sales, stock holding, margin and availability. Excitingly, when we’re building towards the launch of a new product or range, you’ll play a vital part in making sure we have all the stock we need to meet customer needs.
Ideally, you'll bring to the role previous Merchandising experience. But that’s not essential. What you’ll certainly demonstrate is a good head for business and a commercial mindset. You combine excellent admin and organisational ability with strong analytical and numerical skills. Crucially, you’re also a great communicator with a flair for building positive, collaborative relationships.
