To provide a key supporting role in the identification, development and account management of the optimum sourcing opportunities within their allocated product categories helping deliver the most efficient return on investment.
What I need to do:
Support the Sourcing Manager in:
Identification and ongoing management of the buying teams required shopping lists
Identification and consequent follow up / investigation of the most suitable potential manufacturers (considering all relevant factors) to meet the buyers identified requirements. Activities to include:
Agreeing factory investigation priorities with Sourcing Manager
Ensuring relevant financial checks are undertaken
Factory questionnaires (including capacity and quality assurance pre-audit)
Terms & conditions paperwork
Internal documentation to set the factory up on the Argos systems
Ensure the information gathered is given to the Sourcing Manager within the specified time frame and all paperwork completed accurately, in full and on time.
Once a suitable factory has been identified, support the Sourcing Manager in the issuing of product briefs, obtaining and processing of quotations and organising samples to be sent to the UK or to the factories as required.
After successful product selection the role will be to ensure all relevant activities to launch a product in both Operating Companies are completed accurately, in full and on time, these include:
Work with supplier and MDS to provide landed cost prices and recommend most suitable purchases
Selection and sales forecast agreed with Trading and communicated to factories
Production and shipment timescales agreed with factories and supply chain (orders, lead-times etc.)
New supplier and product set up
Ensuring products are developed for testing and photography
Ensuring all paperwork is issued to the factories by the relevant internal departments and returned by the factories completed accurately, in full and on time
Maintaining New line and order tracker identifying any areas of concerns.
Issue weekly sales to factory where appropriate
Maintain communication with relevant stock, QA and buying teams to ensure smooth running of the ordering process / stock management.
Follow RI critical path and support Sourcing Manager in targeting agreed factories and products for RI cost price movement with logical reasons for price downs.
Use business objects to provide detailed analysis of factory and supplier performance recommending suitable actions.
Manage all AQL claims / admin requirements for allocated product area
What I need to know:
Numerate and comfortable with analysis and comparison with excellent excel skills.
Ability to run and interpret data recommending subsequent actions
Excellent communicator with experience in building relationships at all levels in business.
Ideally able to demonstrate experience of working in commercial role with retail environment and involvement in range management / analysis.
