Position Purpose & Summary
To negotiate and ensure the best cost and Quality for Ingredients/Raw materials for the assigned categories in compliance with quality and quantity requirements, Cargill policies and procedures as well as local regulations. This includes managing the relationship with vendors, ensuring Quality requirements are met, adequate Control environment and best economical options are chosen, in alignement with business objectives. The Buyer will also support/drive the selection of the best options and sources to fulfill the nutrients requirements of the finish products, in close alignment with SMT, Sales and business objectives.
50% RAW MATERIAL PURCHASING
Negotiate and manage agreements with regional/local suppliers according to the Business Strategy strictly following Cargill Guiding Principles.
Ensure contracts are in place to pursue proper Finantial Control, specify Quality requirements and are aligned with Cargill Legal requirements.
Supervise and evaluate key suppliers' performance, implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Manage the relationship and application of agreed conditions with all vendors.
Monitor Processes and Policies application and recommend improvements.
Approve contracts in SAP according to authority levels.
30% CATEGORY MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
Deploy the Category Strategy set by the Sourcing Leads.
Deploy New Raw materials/suppliers by engaging Production, local FSQR, Pricing, etc.
Liase with local business (Supply Chain, Production, Sales, etc) to understand raw materials usage and provide insight and updates to Sourcing Leads.
Ensure proper communication about market constraints and opportunities to local business to ensure alignment with Business goals (e.g. expand inventories to capture bullish mkt opportunity, etc.)
Recommend and deploy strategy to ensure the best TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and quality conditions for Cargill.
10% MARKET AND PRICING INFORMATION
Provide market input to Sourcing Leads and peers to ensure proper understanding of the local/regional markets.
Provide input to the Pricing team to ensure the local market circusntances are reflected in the Pricing decisions.
Provide support for other activities related or influenced by RMS, e.g. Certifications, Audits, etc.
Back up for other activities as necessary to keep proper business activity
