We have a fantastic opportunity for a Category Development Manager to join the retail food division for Foodbuy.
Foodbuy are a premier procurement company for food and beverage who provide innovative and unique procurement solutions to operations across the UK and Europe. Our ambition is to be the biggest food procurement provider in Europe by 2020.
As the Category Development Manager for Food, you will ensure that we deliver value to all Foodbuy clients as well as ensuring we deliver growth to our supplier partners. You will create and execute category strategies, identify value growth opportunities, build strong and sustainable relationships with our category partners, stakeholders and clients and ensure the consumer needs are understood and delivered against for both our internal and external clients.
Accountable for circa. £70M of category spend, you will lead the category through the key steps in the Foodbuy Procurement Framework focusing on start-up, strategy and continuous improvement.
As a category manager already or a senior buyer looking to make the steps on their career path, you will be a commercial and passionate procurement professional ideally with experience of managing a similar category within retail foods
As a confident communicator, you will be comfortable selling this category to our third-party clients and look at their needs as a source of inspiration. Proven experience working, and negotiating, with big FMCG brands or manufacturers is key along with the ability to influence, engage and challenge at all levels. Ideally, you will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and hold a relevant CIPS qualification.
