Job Profile Summary
The EV Charging market is an exciting and new growth area for BP on a global scale, with numerous programs underway throughout the regions, with increased opportunities continuing to emerge. As part of this growth, BP requires the Procurement team to provide market insights, and develop a strategy on how to best procure these requirements on a regional and global scale. This is a new category team requirement within BP sitting within the Retail Assets global category but with close alignment with the Engineering Equipment category which traditionally manages key electrical components (eg. Cables, switchgear, transformers) which form part of an overall EV solution in some instances. To support this need, Regional Category Manager roles have been established.
The Regional Category Manager (CM) plays a critical role in realising Downstream Procurement’s (DP) objective to become a world-class procurement organisation with leading capability in category management that deliver relevant, value-adding category strategies to BP’s Downstream businesses. The CM is responsible for end-to-end category performance (within their defined scope), supplier performance management, operating in accordance with corporate policies and processes, defined governance and delegations of authority.
The primary focus of the CM role is to create transformative category strategies, based on supply market expertise, current and future business needs and global category spend and innovation opportunities that identify impactful business value (with a focus on savings through effective category deployment). The CM also develops effective implementation plans, working in lockstep with Business Interface peers (Advanced Mobility Unit, Regional Retail Teams) and GBS to support successful implementation to agreed timelines.
This role is newly created and will need a candidate that can build a regional / global category from the ground up, managing multiple stakeholders and regions who are progressing the EV Agenda at different paces and potentially with different approaches.
