The GSK Procurement function is tasked with ensuring that the business obtains value-for-money services, products and solutions to facilitate GSK’s business model and vision of delivering market-leading medicines to patients all over the world. The Global Procurement team is comprised of over 700 colleagues (in over 65 countries) who are collectively responsible for managing over £11Billion in spend across a substantial breadth of spend categories.
Category Manager (Regional) – Facilities (EU Region)
The Category Manager for Facilities (EU Region) is a new role that has been created to design and implement global category strategies (for Facilities Management), whilst ensuring they are effectively managed and delivered within budget and time-frames with the ultimate aim of facilitating the delivery of GSK’s commercial objectives. The role is high-profile, as it works with stake-holders enterprise-wide (typically at Director-level) to understand specifications and business requirements to ensure that GSK effectively leverages its scale. In delivering your role you will create best-in-class partnerships with key suppliers (including executing contract performance and governance for categories with Supply Chain stakeholders). You will also deliver quality end-user and infrastructure services in a cost-conscious manner.
Specifically, you will be accountable for input, creation and execution of category strategies for Facilities Management (FM) to meet the business needs across various asset classes and business units (mostly across the region). You will also have responsibility for selective global sub-categories (which may include security, archiving, ground transportation, office supplies, etc.). The regional (or sub-regional) spend will be circa £50m-£100m for use in implementing global or regional strategies for countries within the region. You will also build multi-year savings plans and pipeline of activities to deliver value to GSK, support the implementation of next generation of Facilities Management contracts (including heavy involvement in reviewing £1.3bn contract spend over 5 years), and take specific accountability for key parts of the project.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of this role we are looking for the successful applicant to be based at GSK House (Brentford, West London).
This role would suit a driven and motivated individual who has strong experience of working in a complex procurement management environment. You will have demonstrable skill / ability in developing sophisticated commercial procurement strategies that align with the business’s needs. This includes having a strong understanding of business and financial analysis. The ability to communicate with senior stakeholders (eg Directors, Finance Managers, etc) is considered important. You will have excellent people skills, and a proven ability to drive performance. It is imperative in this role that you drive common-objective thinking, with a complete focus on providing solutions. You will need to be persuasive, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have proven experience dealing with diverse stakeholder groups.

• University Degree.
• Expertise in managing categories is required (eg; developing and implementing strategies, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship management).
• Experience in influencing strategy and managing across multiple geographies and supply chains.
• Experience in managing global/regional projects with consideration to diverse location-specific needs and regulation (eg taxes, laws, regulations, etc)
• CIPS qualified (or equivalent).
