This is a through-and-through Contract Management role, where you will be managing an exciting and critical Technology Contract. You skills in managing the relationships and performance of the contract will be crucial in keeping the organisation on track. You will need solid experience in the IT category and outsourced and managed service agreements.
The Contract Manager Role: The Contract Manager will be accountable for the contract management strategy, commercial contract management, supplier relationship management and development of strategic contracts allocated to them.
Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Contract Manager:
Design/implement and develop contract governance and, working with the service management team establish effective monitoring of the supplier’s commercial and service management performance under the contract and analyse performance, taking remedial action where necessary.
Agree/refine and manage a contractual change process and ensure adherence to the process, tracking contract changes to ensure the cost model is current and accessible.
Conduct the financial negotiations for any changes related to the contract at the appropriate management level ensuring that the agreements remain commercially advantageous and are appropriately documented and tracked.
Review and amend contract documents, including service level exhibits and statements of work in line with agreed changes.
Build strong working relationships with the supplier’s management team, service delivery centre, Service Desk, Account Teams etc.
Intervene, analyse, manage and resolve business conflicts and disputes between the business and the suppliers.
Develop and manage internal supplier engagement plans to optimise spend, minimise management overhead and build strong, long-term supplier relationships.
Develop strategic supplier management initiatives for the business in collaboration with the relevant contract owner/cost centre manager.
Proactively manage the contract to ensure it remains competitive and offers best value throughout the contract lifecycle.
Agree, refine and manage a risk management framework and ensure adherence to the process, tracking risk to ensure it is being effectively managed.
Provide effective exit management to ensure alignment to business objectives while remaining compliant with applicable regulations.
Contract Manager Qualifications or Equivalent Experience:
Contract management experience (ideally from both supplier and client perspectives)
Solid experience in the IT category and outsourced and managed service agreements
Proven track record of working effectively with service delivery teams, business managers and project managers to ensure service objectives are achieved
Strong and demonstrable experience of commercial contract management at a senior level (significant experience in a similar role and be interested in, and able to add value to, the development of a public sector contract management capability)
Interest in or already be working towards CIPS or equivalent such as IACCM
Educated to degree level

Contract review skills with ability to identify key issues for concern - proven ability to assess risk and suggest the appropriate commercial mitigation measures
Excellent grasp of standard contract terms and conditions
