Demand Forecasting and Planning Specialist
A vacancy has arisen within the F-35 Fleet Management team for a Demand Forecasting and Planning Specialist at our site in Samlesbury
As a Demand Forecasting and Planning Specialist you will have supervisory responsibility and work within a team focused specifically on the development and delivery of in-service support requirements for the F-35 Lightning II Global Sustainment Solution (GSS). .
The position is primarily based at Samlesbury; however travel to Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas will be required.
Your main responsibilities as a Demand Forecasting and Planning Specialist will involve:
Tactical and strategic demand forecasting and planning activities for the global fleet, including development and delivery of models for spares, repairs and consumables
Develop and produce accurate inventory forecasts, using data analysis and scenario/options modelling to inform strategic decision-making and determine the inventory requirements for the fleet
Generate and agree inventory forecasting capabilities, ensuring that the solution is aligned with future business strategies
Close working with Customer and BAE Systems Fleet and Supply Chain Management teams in both the UK and US; maintaining planning configuration control and ensuring planned inventory is available to support the short and long term Fleet Plans
Providing planning expertise and services in support of F-35 Performance Based Logistics (PBL) availability contracts
Working with the Fleet Planning Leads to develop integrated (maintenance and supply) short and long term Fleet Plans, to enable effective embodiment of Fleet Modification and Maintenance requirements for BAE Systems SDR
Development and deployment of toolsets and processes to support the anticipated level of global fleet growth
Ensuring compliance with AM&S mandated processes and governance to ensure safe working practices and SQEP requirements are maintained
Identification of Continuous Improvement opportunities including the application of Best Practice from Combat Air Support and DITS solutions
Supervision of DF&P team members
Your skills and qualifications:
Experience of customer and supplier facing planning and forecasting tasks, in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
Able to build good relationships with Customers, Part M/Part 145 Organisation(s), OEMs, Suppliers and other key stakeholders’ personnel.
Experience in a demand forecasting and planning environment
Experience working within BAE Systems Aircraft Maintenance & Support function (or similar) environment
Ability to work in a multi-national environment and with partner companies under complex work share arrangements
Understand the Regulatory Framework and its applicability to the IF&P processes and activities.
Good to strong quantitative and analytical skills/experience
Ability to run meetings and present in front of senior management
People management experience – desirable.
