At AstraZeneca, we are united by a common purpose: to push the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines. Every single day, we make a difference by delivering potentially life-changing medicines to millions of people globally and by leading breakthrough science that promises to transform the treatment of disease. Our purpose is ambitious and so is our approach. Becoming a more agile and creative company means building a dynamic, inspiring culture where we celebrate diverse, bold thinking and act with a sense of urgency. We are curious, creative, and open to new ideas and ways of working.
As a Demand Planner (DP) in the European Region, within Global Supply Chain & Strategy, you will manage operational demand and act as the operational point of contact between the relevant Marketing Companies (MCs) and the relevant global supply functions. This is an excellent opportunity to be exposed to the end to end Supply Chain, collaborate with many Operations & Commercial teams, and be a central point in the supply and demand process. The role sits within the regional European Demand Team, which consists of Demand Planners and Marketing Company Account Managers (MCAMs) located throughout Europe. You will work closely with the MCAM for their markets, as well as with aligned distribution managers in the Global Logistics Function.
What you'll do
This opportunity will cover the UK, Eire and Malta (UK/ER/MT) portfolio of markets, based out of Macclesfield. The UK is a top 20 market for AstraZeneca, with many new product launchesand divestment activities, leading to a constantly evolving portfolio of products and a growing market, delivering life changing medicines to our patients. The approaching Brexit transition deal also impacts heavily on these markets, with changes in processes being required. It is a phenomenal opportunity to be involved in these dynamic markets, especially during this key time in UK history.
The Demand Planner also has non-market accountabilities and will represent the region on cross functional projects and processes, giving plenty of opportunity for personal growth and development in the role. The role offers the opportunity to gain knowledge in the end-to-end supply chain, and to build networks across Operations and in to the Commercial organisation. It also has a clear line of sight to the patient, seeing the impact of the supply of our products.
In this role you will be the key operational interface between the Global Supply Function and the Marketing Companies. You will typically:
In addition, you will be involved in new product launches in your markets, and switch activities resulting from divestments or product discontinuations. There are also a number of diverse additional projects, initiatives and improvements to get involved in.
