This role is a 12 month secondment for internal applicants and a 12 month fixed term contract for external applicants.
This role will report to the Head of Global Supply Chain Planning for Respiratory and HIV and is a key role in improving end to end supply chain planning, optimised inventory and outstanding service to patient at the least cost. It will support the reduction of working capital across the supply chain and bring in simplicity and standardisation in the way that the supply chain works. The Global SC Director will be accountable for service level performance to customer and supply chain optimisation across the network for the Resp/HIV portfolio. You will lead the design of the the end to end Supply Chain inventory plan for Respiratory and HIV supply chains and be accountable for delivery against the 2018 and 2019 financial inventory plan. In addition lead reviews of the design across the brands and create a comprehensive longer term plan to ensure delivery in 2020 onwards. Make decisions on Supply Chain network and capacity plan, based on recommendation from Global SC Planning managers, to ensure optimal delivery of outstanding service level and value to our patients, supporting the commercial organization in delivering the top line growth and new pipeline introduction. Ensure business continuity through supply chain risk assessments across the regions and owning delivery of action plans to mitigate identified risks.
•Define end to end operational supply chain policy, including setting of rules, boundaries, policies and replenishment models to deliver optimal service, cost and end to end inventory for SKU portfolio and monitor its application across the supply chain.
•Collaborate and ensure strong stakeholder engagement on inventory management between Global Planning and Finance, Procurement, GPS, Rx Supply Chain head
•Lead inventory reduction opportunities to support 2018 and 2019 inventory target and GSK’s DIO target
•Recommend to Head of Global Supply Chain Planning (Resp/HIV) any escalations regarding strategic stock requirements within inventory, and identify strategic stock impacts / brokering decisions for SKU portfolio
•Team management and capability building across planning staff
•Develop optimal supply chain plan across network for minimum 0-2 year horizon, based on recommendation from Global Supply Chain Planning Managers and in collaboration with Regional Supply & Demand Hubs, or 3rd party customers, for both existing and pipeline products.
•Optimise supply chain plan for delivery of new products within the planned time to market, and cost (including write-off risks)
•As part of the Global Demand Consolidation process align volume and value forecast with Finance and understand differences vs budget updates, escalating issues to S&OP. Engage with Strategy team to align Therapy area with LRF
•Accountable for On Time In Full (OTIF) and inventory management for therapy portfolio and initiatives to deliver continuous improvement to deliver service, cost and cash benefits. Understand key Demand KPIs (Forecast Completeness, Accuracy & Bias, for example) and escalate adverse trends.

•Significant Substantial experience in supply chain delivery
•Matrix or direct leadership and development of a team of planners
•Good knowledge of Supply Chain processes and supporting systems within a global business environment
•Knowledge of financial planning processes and planning systems
•Strong understanding of commercials drivers, objectives and challenges
•Strong relationship management building skills, with the ability to interact, influence, and manage multiple and varied business contacts, both internal and external, often with different requirements and goals.
•Understanding of political/economic/financial processes and able to construct business proposals and implementation plans.
•Experience in Inventory management
•Understanding on inventory impact on the enterprise
