Power Systems is a dynamic and vital supplier of engines to all of the JCB Divisions. It has an extremely busy Materials and Logistics operation which operates both days and nights.
Inbound and Outbound goods are handled through a variety of 3PL operators, and stock is also held at a number of external sites.
About your role
Logistics Operational focus from Goods in to Point of fit
Full operational accountability within the Warehouse during Night Shifts is expected
Ensure compliance to all relevant Health & Safety Legislation
Ensure adherence to company Safety Policy in all areas of a complex logistics operation
Maintaining and improving business KPI’s related to the Logistics Department with the ability to change and improve processes to accommodate volume increases which will enable us to achieve Safety , Quality, Cost & Growth targets
Agree KPI performance levels of team through regular communication and formal discussions
To review existing SOP’s (Standard Operating Process) and to ensure that these are being followed within the routine materials planning and logistical functions
To suggest amendments to any SOP which will improve the operational actions particularly within a growing business
Implement and encourage a Spirit of Continual Improvement and Lean initiatives in all aspects of the logistics function
To promote a spirit of ownership and pride by every individual of the team
Be responsible for the team welfare, and to conduct regular staff appraisals thereby maintaining a hands on management style with an ability to coach and develop the wider team
Manage absence control and performance issues within the team
Ensure that the unloading and receipting of all deliveries, and the accurate despatch of all goods within the warehouse are processed within the agreed time frames.
Analyse all material shortages with root cause analysis
Proven Supply Chain experience
Highly developed managerial and leadership skills
In-depth experience of Inventory Controls
Understanding of Production Planning
Negotiator / Influencer
Global Distribution challenges
Excellent communicator – both verbal and written
High IT literacy – specifically SAP and MS Office
