Position Purpose & Summary
Considered experienced professionals in the Trade execution space with deep knowledge to use in ensuring raw material supply to malting plants located in different EU countries under direct oversight of the Inbound barley SC Lead.
Applies a comprehensive understanding of supply chain practices and procedures related to grains contracts and trade rules. Gather and execute medium-short term raw material supply plans based on various input sources (e.g. forecast, contract position, inventory available, and direct input from different EMEA plants and demand teams). Ensures this plan is signed off by Inbound SC Lead and executed according to contract terms and logistics constraints and budget.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Participate on cross-functional teams for the purpose of gathering Supply needs
Works closely with standard contacts within the SC teams, operations, and Cargill Transportation & Logistics
Uses a thorough understanding of supply chain practices and procedures to form strong relationships with the suppliers and other SC stakeholders. Uses standard contracts knowledge to protect Cargill interest.
Proceed to logistics arrangement in terms of transportation, warehousing and handling operations
Execute trade contracts and update ERP/Contracts systems
Process payable raw material and related invoices
Accountable for ensuring required supply to plants expectations through request fulfilment, while acting as a standard al liaison between suppliers, production, quality assurance, technical service, finance, and transportation & logistics.
80% Trade Execution
May participate in and provide support to improvement projects and commitments requiring a thorough understanding of standard contracts rules, practices and procedures
Applies a deep understanding of Supply Chain practices and procedures to identify areas of improvement and cost management.
Solves day-to-day problems by executing a full scale of SC activities with some oversight.
Assists in creating less complex internal/external benchmark reports and activities, and provides support and input into the organizational roadmap.
With some oversight, actively may monitor and track Contract execution and supply to plants versus contract, forecast and/or lead-time.
Providing timely answers to Barley supply Lead, plants, finance team inquiries about delivery status, invoices, contract balances and other information.
Audit of Payable invoices for customers/clients
Issues involving invoices or payments
PO settlements for Logistics 3rd party activities and, purchased products
Monitoring order patterns, pro-active calling suppliers, anticipation.
Taking care of all supplier administration requests
Handling of external stocks.
Stock control - order entry.
Execution of SC long term raw mat allocations
Timely provision of information to account payable team to resolve invoice and payment queries.
Resolution of back log issues within the scope defined for SC.
Understanding plants requirements, needs and expectations, with regards to logistics and work according to that.
Accurately maintaining of supplier’s, customer database and logistical information (logistics, product, invoicing, service requirements, permits, etc.).
Taking care of logistics organization
Ensure transportation planning/instructions
Freight record and invoice processing
Execute trade contracts as per Incoterms and trade standards
10% Plants, Finance and Suppliers interaction, business partnership
Coordinates with supply chain planning, plant operations, finance, logistics and purchasing departments to fulfil all orders, resolve any scheduling challenges, and sustain key supply chain model inputs. Escalates complex conditions to more senior members of the team or manager.
Collaborates with peers in other BUs and/or externally (i.e. suppliers).
Utilizes communication and language skills to complete a full scale of SC activities.
With some oversight, interfaces with SC stakeholders through regular reviews and projects to ensure an understanding the plants’ requirements and expectations. For example:
Ensuring understanding production.
Basing on contracts, supply plans, as well as historical information providing input to forecasting collection tool on 12 months rolling forecast of supply volumes.
Ensuring understanding by Suppliers Cargill Business Rules.
Supports the evaluation and recommendation of common work processes.
5% Process Development, Planning & Execution
Uses developing knowledge of SC and Trade Execution practices and procedures to execute SC strategies
With some oversight, may provide input to the development of Supply planning strategies.
5% Systems / Data Management, Reporting & Analysis
Responsible for maintaining and updating tools/systems and relationships that support accurate trade execution and supply forecast, as well as other databases within the business related to shipments and inventory management items.
Education, Experience, Skills
Bachelor degree or equivalent by working experience
Fluent in German, English, French
Spanish would be a plus.
Preferably 3 years’ experience in Trade execution of Supply Chain areas
Advanced understanding on tools & systems supporting SC processes
PC literate (e.g. MS Office Suite)
Good understanding of Standard Grain contracts
Understanding of overall Supply Chain processes
Good communication skills
