Industrial Operations is a key player to develop the footprint and ensure operations excellence. The function supports all activities, in close interaction with Regions, sites, depots and other Central functions.
The UK&I Supply Chain sits within Industrial Operations and is accountable for the management of the flow of goods and services – ensuring parts arrive at the right place, at the right time to support the Operational Teams. This includes material planning, warehouse management, external 3PL partner management and Sales and Operations Planning. This function supports across the organisation in both Signalling, Systems and Infrastructure (SS&I) and Rolling Stock and Services (RS&S)
What are my responsibilities?
This is a pivotal role in building and deploying Alstom’s Supply Chain, logistics strategy and footprint and you’ll be a key player in developing our operational excellence.
As the UK&I Logistics Manager you’ll be responsible for developing long-term strategies for our SS&I business, managing daily logistical concerns and issues at an operational level. You’ll work for example, with warehouse managers across the UK and the commercial team to manage 3PL excellence.
You’ll manage all UK Logistics activities including all warehousing facilities, transport requirements, compliance with UK Customs and Environmental legislation/requirements. You’ll be accountable for ensuring the UK&I transport and warehousing are harmonised, meet our stringent safety standards, and working to one single Alstom standards.
You’ll also be involved with supporting the deployment of the new SAP system to your function and ensuring that KPI’s are established and managed.

Furthermore, you’ll be a natural leader with a strong focus on customer relationship management and will exemplify a collaborative and creative approach to problem solving, demonstrating the ability to work in a diverse team.
You’ll have autonomy to base yourself at any of Alstom’s sites, however there is extensive travel across the organisation and therefore flexibility is a must for this role.
