This position will lead the operational excellence journey, while embedding rigorous performance management processes within manufacturing to identify and drive opportunities for improved reliability and cost efficiency.
The role will drive the development of a manufacturing operating strategy in collaboration with Network Optimization to define the purpose of each assetunderpinned by a 5 year masterplan to reach world class levels of equipment efficiency with the lowest levels of waste.
•Deploy and manage the Operational Excellence (CIM) Programme for the European plants, focusing on plant reliability and efficiencies through loss identification, elimination and prevention, leading to:
•Breakthrough improvement in efficiency and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
•Reduced Cost of Goods through material waste reduction (war on waste)
•High schedule adherence
•Performance Management: develop, track, trend, the Manufacturing KPI dashboard to enable effective review of the operational performance of plants that supports identification of opportunities for improvement as part of the masterplans
•Facilitate the monthly reporting on the progression plans as part of the performance cycle in collaboration with the Plant manager and the “Site CIM Champion” who will participate in the network
•Train and coach the manufacturing operations staff to embed the culture of sustainable continuous improvement
•Ensure the masterplan execution and initiates when necessary gap closing activities
•Lead the business case development for all the efficiency/productivity capital investment requests (value identification) and ensure a follow up on delivery when commissioned.
•Ensure that continuous improvement opportunities are syndicated throughout all functions of the Supply Chain, ensuring optimisation of the manufacturing processes does not negatively impact other functions ie. initiatives MUST provide a net positive impact to the Supply Chain and ultimately to the business.
•Participate and support Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Excellence networks, the incumbent will enable best practise syndication across all regions.
•Participate in cross-functional teams to analyse and implement continuous improvement opportunities in conjunction with changes occurring within other functions of the supply chain.
•Recognized university degree in supply chain management, engineering or production operations or equal by experience.
- By preference at least 10 years Plant Operations experience and a track record of proven experience with TPM/Lean/CI concepts and techniques and leading an operational excellence programme ideally in an FMCG environment.
