The demand for our products goes up and down for all sorts of reasons. So, getting the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time, to the right place is a fine balancing act. Get it right and not only does it keep our customers happy, it also optimises sales and profitability – which is good for all of us. Working with our Buyers, you’ll plan product ranges and prepare sales and stock plans whilst keeping close tabs on the sales budget, catalogue launches and promotions. It’s all about effective stock, sales and merchandising planning. But it’s also about working out what to do with any residual stock and looking to clear it. Thanks to your skills, you’ll make it look easy.
YOUR SKILLS TOOLBOX
Let’s start with your impressive merchandising career. You’ll definitely come from a major retailer and ideally, you’ll have online experience, whilst any supply chain, inventory experience is a bonus. As we’ll be looking to you to contribute to maximising our margins and sales, financial modelling, data analysis, sales forecasting, stock ordering and problem-solving are also skills we’re looking for. On top of that, you’ll need to be a great communicator, both verbal and written, and be able to influence internal and external stakeholders. Finally, it’s about the type of person you are. Totally at ease working on multiple tasks and to tight deadlines, you’re proactive at every turn. It’s exactly why you’ll fit right in.
