The Operations Manager is a key figüre within the organisation driving performance through site agreed performance standards for the manufacturing operations within the factory, people management and development, and ensuring that all manufactured products are of a high quality. Demonstrating a continuous improvement approach and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders, you will drive delivery and execution, being accountable for cost you will be able to analyse data to create project and improvement plans whilst thriving in a fast paced environment.
To successfully manage a high volume, flexible manufacturing operation on a day to day basis
Proactively lead the manufacturing team, with a strong focus on people development.
To achieve Sourcing Unit result (Business Plan) within unit
To achieve customer service targets in unit
To achieve safety standards in unit
To achieve quality standards in unit
To manage employee relations to ensure high engagement levels in unit
Strong people skills able to develop and coach the team
Manage the operations (manufacturing and maintenance) of the factory - including Raw and Pack material management
Manage and respond on factory service levels, efficiencies, quality compliance, OSHE compliance and cost compliance
Lead Factory improvement programmes leveraging and best practice approaches by identifying new safety techniques, quality initiatives and cost saving and development opportunities to improve factory performance
Implement HR policies and procedures
Support implementation of innovation within the factory and deliver to agreed ramp up plans
To continually improve manufacturing processes yields and performance through the development of people, systems and the effective utilisation of capital investment.
Understand and react to the wider needs of the business versus those of the Plant.
Build and develop relationships at all levels across the manufacturing function in order to spark ideas for continuous improvement.
To drive focused improvement activities, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders and ensuring best practice implementation in accordance with the Early Equipment Management philosophy
Is a key member of the leadership team (SLT) and therefore is also accountable, with other members of the team, for the delivery of the Site Masterplan and other KPIs
Responsible for creating and driving performance culture within the manufacturing environment
Must be one of the key drivers of World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
Significant experience in delivering a highly efficient production operation to the required levels of quality, hygiene and safety within a FMCG environment
Proven track record in people management
Strong leadership skills
Previous experience liaising with trade unions
