Would you like to work within a procurement team playing a key role within the strategic category management of the munitions business unit? We currently have a vacancy for a Category Lead at our site in Glascoed.
As a Category Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic management of multiple contracts, ensuring the successful procurement of parts and materials. You will lead and coordinate strong supplier relationships supporting with contracts for a designated range of products and materials for the munitions business.
This role will provide you with the ability to shape and develop category strategy working within a niche sector. You will have the ability to work in a challenging but rewarding sector and area.
Your main responsibilities as a Category Lead will involve:
Develop effective Category Strategies in collaboration with other functions and wider business network.
Develop effective Supplier Strategies in collaboration with other functions and wider business network.
Develop effective strategic relationships with suppliers in category.
Work alongside Procurement Programme Managers and Procurement Delivery Team to implement agreed Category & Supplier Strategies.
Lead supplier approval and on-boarding process in collaboration with Supplier Quality Team and other functional support areas as required.
Your skills and qualifications:
A Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply qualification (MCIPS)
Proven experience in strategy development, supplier and risk management
Proven experience using SAP
Experience using a data analytical tool such as Power BI
Value Engineering Experience

You will have great leadership skills with the ability to engage, communicate, motivate and influence at all levels, stakeholder skills and the ability to build internal and external relationships is key to this role. The ability to manage a busy workload by planning your day, prioritising and working as a team member but with the ability to work alone is also key.
Salary: Circa, £41,000 per annum depending on experience
