Overview of the role:
Group Procurement at Walgreens Boots Alliance is led by our Chicago-based CPO. The UK based Category Procurement team for Goods Not for Resale (GNFR) reports to a UK-based Head of Category Procurement and is comprised of c.25 professional Procurement Managers.
The Procurement Category Manager – IT will join our existing UK based IT Category Team reporting to the Group Procurement Category Lead – IT. The role holder will be accountable for providing commercial leadership on IT spend with particular focus on delivering value from our existing strategic partner relationships.
In this role you will be expected to lead the commercial interaction with our senior stakeholders in our UK and Global entities with support as required from the Procurement Leadership team.
Major stakeholders will include the Boots UK, International Retail, Walgreens US and Global Brands leadership teams.
The overriding responsibility is to deliver the best possible value to Walgreens Boots Alliance from 3rd party relationships within the category by:
• Leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of procurement category strategies at a local, regional or group-wide level.
• Working with stakeholders (functional, procurement and supplier), to develop strategy and tactics for procurement category initiatives, providing thought leadership; identifying, creating and implementing initiatives to maximize value and ensure ongoing management of existing supplier contracts and relationships.
• Project managing work-streams and initiatives within the category to ensure timely delivery of objectives, ensuring all necessary processes, including formal stakeholder approvals are completed.

You will have in-depth IT Procurement knowledge with demonstrable experience of delivering value at pace whilst working on a wide range of IT initiatives.
You will have the industry knowledge and category insights to provide knowledge-based challenge to senior stakeholders within the business.
You will be commercially astute with strong communication and negotiation skills and adept at applying a variety of commercial approaches in order to deliver real value to the business.
