My client are a globally recognised professional services organisation.
Responsible for developing and implementing the IT procurement strategy for software, hardware and services.
Developing an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the assigned category and its supply chain, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulation with respect to the procurement of goods and services.
Manage the IT input into new and renewal software/partner tenders; this will involve reviewing contract terms and agreeing SLA/KPIs, ensure initial IT licensing is planned for, and the on-going supplier and partner relationships are actively managed.
This role will support other Procurement management in developing and communicating category specific sourcing strategies including introducing innovation and best practice. Taking ownership of the assigned category and developing relationships across the business with key stakeholders; identifying risks and opportunities within a category; and identifying opportunities for realising commercial value.
The Successful Applicant
Experienced in a senior purchasing role and Level 6 MCIPS qualified
Strong technical awareness of IT products and/or services
Demonstrable experience of managing procurement cycles and processes
Strong commercial awareness and drive
Strong skills and expertise in financial reporting areas
Ability to innovate
Strong grasp of business strategy and ability to link and adapt procurement strategy appropriately
Strong communication and influencing skills (including strong negotiation skills) at all levels both internally and externally with the ability to sell new ideas and ways of doing things. Ability to engage, manage and influence diverse or challenging stakeholders and build professional relationships
Confident and calm under pressure. Able to communicate effectively to all levels of the business
High level of personal integrity and professionalism
A self-starter with a 'can do/will do' attitude who has the energy, drive and commitment to make things happen
Ability to effectively problem solve and identify ways to mitigate financial risks
Significant relevant experience in a comparable contract/procurement/sourcing role of IT products and/or services
Experience of developing the business case, designing the evaluation methodology and putting in place a strategy for appropriate risk allocation
