Predominantly supporting the CIO and the IT team in the effective sourcing of key external supply partners. The main category focus is IT but may be required to support projects across all categories. Ensuring costs are managed in line with financial budgets, best value for money, innovation is maximised and risk is optimised across all managed categories and projects. Depending on the project; occasional working from the Burnley & Sheffield Warehouse’s may be required.
Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities
Relationship management of key suppliers to ensure consistently high service levels are achieved and value for money is maintained;
Ensure robust processes are in place which ensure we have an efficient and compliant selection process, which is fully auditable and accurate.
Have an obsessive eye for detail and able to scrutinise and understand large volumes of data to provide clarity and certainty in the selections we make.
Work with the CIO and Heads of Departments to formulate and successfully implement category strategy plans, policies and processes.
Have a good knowledge of contracts and comfortable working closely with Legal to ensure that contracts are accurate, fit for purpose and completed in a timely manner;
Keeping abreast of any significant developments or changes in the IT markets and ensuring this is communicated to the CIO and Head of Procurement with an evaluation of any associated risks/issues and suggested action;
Lead the delivery of a strategy which covers all IT service software and hardware providers.The strategy should define how we select, who we select, when we select and the potential benefit the strategy delivers.
Create and own an annual tender plan which clearly sets out the key dates and corresponding key steps required to select our IT partners.
