Today, Bombardier Transportation’s Procurement teams operate complex supply networks, design and implement sourcing strategies, manage and develop suppliers and ultimately take a leading role in internal and external collaboration within Bombardier Transportation’s organisation.

You will join a two year intensive training programme with a series of placements around the business, providing a firm foundation in the application of Procurement knowledge, skills, tools and techniques. Placements typically include the different functions within Procurement and in functions that have a close relationship with Procurement.
Joining the team in Derby will mean working on real assignments and gaining hands-on experience with responsibility from day one. You will have a chance to build a personal network within the wider business in order to develop overall business awareness, share best practice and foster cross functional working.
Typical placements for a Procurement graduate include :
-Supplier relationship management, building contracts with the relevant documents, follow up with suppliers on overdue documentation, supplier general enquiries, exploration of cost reductions, organise supplier review and ensure that suppliers are paid on time
- Monitor material management objectives and issues, run through status of savings initiatives with all Buyers, update savings report, support on cost saving meetings, and working on savings strategy for current 2021 savings target and projections
- Check and maintain stock levels, updating data on spreadsheets, working with the team to achieve objective, follow up with supplier deliveries and ensure smooth operation of deliveries.
With an experienced Mentor to guide you and undertaking a variety of training modules, you will work towards gaining a professional qualification while also building both technical and interpersonal skills.
You will need a minimum 2:1 degree in a business related subject (preferable supply chain) or engineering with excellent analytical skills, commercial acumen, creative thinking and strong leadership qualities.
