About the Role
We're looking for several Project Procurement Specialists to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We’re a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.
As a Project Procurement Specialist working within the Submarine Supply Chain Team, you’ll provide procurement support to a variety of requirements including material procurement, equipment overhaul and repair to ensure availability to support Submarine programmes. You’ll be accountable, within a defined scope of materials and/or sub-contract services, for the Submarine Supply Chain design, execution, and performance for Submarines project(s) and will have responsibility for typically £10m expenditure within the project(s) scope.
Your procurement activities could include but won’t be limited to: design and engagement of a supply chain that meets project requirements; establishing project requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline; supporting the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and Supplier Performance; assuring Supplier Performance to time, cost and quality against scope of supplier responsibility.
What do I need to do the role?
You’ll be educated to degree level and hold an MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification. You’ll be an experienced Sourcing & Procurement practitioner with excellent knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques; delivery focussed with a pragmatic, hands-on approach that enables strategies to be fully executed.

Lastly, you’ll have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams as well as managing a variety of stakeholders in an operational environment.
What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
