About the Role
This role is responsible for the safe running of all PMB Production Processes using the Distributed Control System (DCS) (including but not exclusively: manufacturing, product loading, product transfers, rail offloading). They will ensure that customer requirements are met whilst taking into account all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality. They will be expected to work a continuous shift cycle of days and nights within a team environment and to provide cover for sickness and other absences as required. This role reports to the Shift Manager and assists his activities.
Responsibilities Include :
All activities and operations to be carried out with appropriate controls, supervision and monitoring so as prevent product spillages and ensure product containment at all times.
Operation and control of the PMB Plant processes.
Following all written procedures / work instructions specific to the tasks being carried out.
Using the parameters and manufacturing methods detailed in prevailing Process Flow Charts (PFC).
Using DCS to monitor and control flows, temperatures and pressures.
Completion of in-process and finished QC testing in line with defined PFC.
Communication of any issues with Shift Manager.
Accurate recording of all process activities and results in relevant logs and batch sheet.
Monitoring and transferring of feedstock and finished products to storage tanks.
Assist HDE Operator when required.
Comply with company regulations / standards with particular regard to HSEQ.
Reporting of Near Misses, Incidents, Safety concerns, Quality concerns and Green Alerts.
Effective documentation of all activities in line with companies documented processes.
Effective participation in formal shift handover meetings.
Reporting of faults to Shift Manager and assisting with remedial actions as required.
Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the plant areas and if required participate in planned area inspections.
Actively participate in the upkeep of the Company’s requirements for the maintenance of accreditation to relevant Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.

Plant Production environment, operating 24/7 on shift system basis with specific hazards relating to bitumen production.
To perform duties in a safe manner so as to prevent incidents, accidents and environmental incidents with particular emphasis of product containment and prevention of spillages.
Follow procedures and instructions, work without direct supervision, be able to prioritise work load.
Specific Security Responsibilities incl:
To identify and report any person not authorised or not expected to be in a particular area.
To identify and report any person interfering with wagons carrying dangerous goods.
