With the acquisition of Argos, we are supporting our operational colleagues in identifying synergy opportunities and establishing the correct strategy for the future across the group. This role will allow the successful candidate to make a tangible impact on our business, working with a world class logistics function.
Taking end to end ownership of the commercial sourcing strategy for your categories, you’ll create clear and compelling plans for a set of complex categories. With those plans, you’ll influence the decisions and actions of senior stakeholders up to Divisional Director level. As you execute your plans, you’ll employ a strategic sourcing methodology that enhances our competitive advantage, minimises risk and helps deliver outstanding solutions for our customers and colleagues. Along the way, you’ll lead cross-functional teams to deliver business change, and hold challenging negotiations with suppliers and senior stakeholders alike. As a critical business partner, you’ll help us to get the best from suppliers. You’ll change the game.
To be equal to this exciting challenge, you’ll need significant experience in a commercial environment - ideally within an indirect procurement function. We would prefer you to be familiar with a category planning process and an end to end strategic sourcing methodology. Project management and contract negotiation skills would also be a significant advantage. You will certainly have experience of leading cross-functional teams and achieving business change through influencing others. You’ve managed strategic suppliers and senior stakeholders, and secured excellent results in negotiations. And your analytical and problem solving skills are every bit as impressive as your flair for communication.
