Our client is looking for a Senior Buyer with experience in the social care sector. You will be responsible for procuring all goods and services needed in a care home environment: Care equipment, Medical supplies, Consumables, Catering and Cleaning amongst others.
Senior Buyer Key responsibilities:
Provide commercial leadership in tendering, negotiations and subsequent supplier management for a range of products including deploying a Category management approach to healthcare and hospitality / hotel sector spend
Manage procurement and contract management activity risks by supporting the development of a disciplined procurement culture throughout the organisation and designing and drafting appropriate procurement policies, documentation and reporting framework
Provide direction on the development of key supplier relationships to improve delivery performance including the implementation of Contract Management routines and toolkits
Proactively leading high value complex negotiations through to contract award and when required, intervening to solve urgent business needs
Support the generation of the Procurement and Contract Management dashboard reports and the identification and validation of savings opportunities to Service Leads, Assistant Directors and the Executive Board
Other - Undertake any other duties that may be required within the scope of the job role. This will require travel to other locations across the UK including regular overnight stays.
MCIPS preferred as well as Category Management experience within the Healthcare sector. This position can be based in either Birmingham, Manchester or London.
