In this role, you’ll influence the direction of our UK Chinook and Apache Sustainment Programmes and our emerging Fixed Wing support business. The successful candidate for this role will already be leading a team of Commercial or Finance professionals to support a small division or major programme, managing long-term contracts in a defence or engineering environment. You will have demonstrated outstanding leadership capabilities and be recognized as a creator of value in your current organization.
The Senior Commercial Lead reports to the Commercial Director of BDUK. In this role, you’ll be partnering with the programme leadership to drive commercial and financial performance and manage risk across the programme portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring execution of decisions within a large team of financial and commercial professionals to help deliver the programme’s significant growth expectations and meet ever more challenging financial goals whilst protecting the enterprise and adhering to the highest standards of ethics and compliance. As a member of the Commercial senior leadership team for BDUK you will help formulate and deliver our functional priorities and strategies, aimed at creating an internationally recognized centre of excellence delivering value as a trusted partner through powerful advice and innovation. We are pursuing step-change improvement in our systems, processes and our capabilities and you will be essential to our success in these endeavours.
The suitable candidate will have strong leadership and business partnering skills as well as an understanding of commercial negotiations, business planning, scheduling and analysis. This needs to be combined with experience working in a complex, international, matrix environment.
