Are you an experienced logistics manager working across global supply chain? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Supply Chain Manager – International Logistics at our site in Barrow.
As a Senior Supply Chain Manager – International Logistics, you will be responsible for the overall transport and asset management for the Weapon Systems (UK) business. As a business with a truly global supply chain involving transportation, storage, and assembly through three continents, this role is responsible for the leadership of logistics, transportation and customer services team and reports into the Head of Procurement.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to support multiple continent and international customers. You will gain global customer exposure in an exciting developing programme
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Supply Chain Manager – International Logistics will involve:
Developing and implementing strategic supply chain plan for the management of logistics, warehousing, transportation and customer services across the Weapons Systems (UK) business, including both production and support contracts to our international customers
Managing the shipment of items and product through the Company transportation contractor (3PL) to ensure delivery of production materiel and customer equipment
Leading several managers with several teams covering end–to-end supply chain with responsibility for career development and training
Ensuring the delivery of a safe supply chain with compliance to all applicable law and legislation relating to health, safety and environment
Applying internal and customer based shipping standards, practices, and procedures in the execution of all transportation and shipment requirements
Ensuring the appropriate handling and tracking of sensitive government-furnished equipment (GFE)
Developing and communicating appropriate metrics including Key Performance Indicators (measures of effectiveness) to supported departments and management
Complying with laws, legislation, regulations, export licensing requirements and ISO requirements
Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Supply Chain Manager – International Logistics:
Proven working experience as an international logistics manager
Demonstrable ability to lead and manage a team of managers with teams of logistics and warehouse personnel
Enterprise Resource Planning experience, preferably SAP
Ability to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Experience of working in the Defence Export Control environment would be beneficial
Experience in handling Government Furnished Equipment is desirable
MCILT OR MCIPS ideally
