About the role
As a Sourcing Manager / Strategic Sourcing Manager you'll have the responsibility for the development of a worldwide market leading supplier base as well as supporting the development of your colleagues. Your aim/goal will be to support deliver better, faster, lower cost products within the Seasonal, Celebrations and Stationary. You will be the vital link between the buying, merchandising, supply chain functions and the in-country sourcing teams. Sourcing experience is critical to this role, however it is not essential that you have a background in a specific product category.
This is a vital role which will allow you the opportunity to demonstrate your strategic thinking, commercial acumen and relationships skills to help deliver value for the ASDA customer. You will have the opportunity to travel internationally and build strategic relationships with our global partners.
As a Sourcing Manager / Strategic Sourcing Manager within our Seasonal, Celebrations and Stationary business, you will report directly to a Senior Sourcing Manager working together to devise and implement departmental/category specific sourcing strategies.
You will play a leading role with your stakeholder to develop, implement and deliver fit for purpose sourcing strategy that supports the business objectives. You will also be responsible for developing a market leading and sustainable supplier base capable of supporting our customer proposition and analyse existing and potential suppliers whilst ensuring adherence to our ethical and sustainable sourcing standards and commitments.
It's important that you can lead Global Leverage & Consolidation projects and evaluate market factors that impact the cost of the product, identify and monitor risks and opportunities to highlight them to relevant teams.
You will also actively monitor macro-economic factors that influence global demand and affect product cost, evaluate trade data for regional sourcing strategy benchmarking with competition, and secure cost efficiencies by supporting negotiations with suppliers to ensure we are buying the right product at the right price.
What you will need:
With experience of sourcing and ability to develop effective supplier relationship management, you will have worked within either a retail or manufacturing environment. You must have experience of working in multi-cultural environment coupled with demonstrable track record of negotiations and strong analytical abilities.
