Our client is a multinational corporation headquartered in Zug, Switzerland focusing on providing energy management solutions and services worldwide with almost its 6000 employees in 31 countries. For its global Group Procurement Team in Zug we are looking for an internationally experienced procurement professional to be appointed as the Strategic Sourcing Manager (Electronic Components).
Collect, control, and coordinate global demand of the electronic components and be responsible for e-sourcing tenders and for the supplier selections across all regions.
Manage the relationship with group strategic Electronic Component suppliers and secure the correct implementation of any agreements made.
Propose procurement strategies for your material field and ensure the implementation of these strategies by cooperating with and coaching the regional purchasing managers.
Analyze existing supplier base against all global market players for Electronic Components with the support of all relevant R&D stakeholders. Investigate and identify synergies across multiple locations in order to pool volumes with a limited number of group suppliers.
Implement the synergies identified, influencing R&D design centers, Component Management and local procurement teams with effective procurement recommendations. Handle multiple and concurrent activities in a complex and global environment with a strong focus on commercial results such as price reduction and supplier risk mitigation.
Consider any relevant recommendation provided by the key Contract Manufacturers and partners, especially for the Component sub-categories that can be better managed by them.
Involve actively into continuous improvement processes within group procurement as well as participating global and cross-department projects.
Create objective, accurate and justified basis for strategic decisions and present them to the management of group procurement.
Negotiate with strategic suppliers the existing contract changes as well as new tenders and be responsible, aligned with the management, for the final supplier selection.
Manage issues with suppliers (e.g. contracts fulfillment, product quality), support respective assigned projects and link between project team and procurement function as per the relevant guideline and directives.
Work closely with R&D, quality assurance and supply chain management teams to realize effective supplier development and management.
Handle multiple and concurrent activities in a complex and global environment with a strong orientation and tension towards the commercial results.

Academic background with Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering and/or Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Economics or Management with additional advanced degrees (e.g. MBA and certifications in Procurement and Supply Chain Management; APICS, CIPS, Lean Six Sigma is a plus).
At least 5 years of experience in relevant procurement functions at a strategic and/or global level in the electronic manufacturing industry (desirably working closely with Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and/or Joint design manufacturer (JDM) providers).
Proven expertise in supplier evaluation and management as well as in project management.
A pro-active, fact-based, pragmatic attitude with an objective analytical, solution and results oriented mind-set that is able to work at all levels of the company and across all functions.
Experience in people management complemented by strong decision making skills.
A change agent with the ability to be diplomatic and constructively deal with conflict and resistance, whilst striving for excellence in execution.
Strong project management skills as both a leader and participant.
Demonstrated analytical thinker, capable of leverage data to evaluate decision and support strategic positioning.
Detail orientated, structured and clear reporting skills - comfortable in the use and presentation of data.
Strong and persuasive communicator; capable of presenting complex data in a simplified way.
Proficiency with ERPs and e-procurement tools
Excellent language fluency in English; any other European language knowledge is a plus.
Excellent skills in using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
