Lead all interactions with third party organizations through account plans, targets and projects to maximize collaboration and value creation between the parties.
Coordinate a cross-functional Supplier Relationship and Procurement Team (SRPT) to ensure alignment on supply strategy, complete product and process oversight, drive performance improvements in all functional areas (TRD, Quality, Supply Chain, procurement, life cycle management, post marketing authorization).
Develops the AAA supplier strategy as part of the wider AAA Strategy, leads proactive sourcing projects, specification definition and demand management.
Coordinate Supplier Relationship and Procurement Team (SRPT), comprised of quality, supply chain, sourcing, technical functions inc. validation, GMP, HSE to ensure Novartis AAA standards are met
Organize business review meetings, where key stakeholders and technical experts meet to discuss joint opportunities, potential roadblocks to collaboration, activities and resources required, and share strategies and relevant market trends
Set targets and manage performance (review KPIs and ensure implementation of CAPAs) of the suppliers and SRPT
Serve as primary point of escalation for issues/KPIs
Lead major projects to improve supplier performance
Create and follow Project and account plans (capacity, saving, changes)
Write 3-5 year strategic plans for accounts
Assure the SRPT has “one voice” to third parties
Responsible for collecting supplier information and feedback from Divisions, countries, sites, and Business Partners
Responsible for monitoring compliance and adherence to Novartis Procurement policies and procedures
Lead Contract management including negotiations, amendments, prolongations, commercial claims for new and/or existing suppliers within the responsibility area; preparation of terms sheets summary
Lead evaluation of complex global projects with third parties to support make or buy decisions, transfers, divestments, due diligences and sourcing point evaluations. Run RfXs and coordinate all activities with involved functions (e.g. MS&T, Quality, HSE, SC) related to compliance, audits, tax, funds flow, investments etc. and prepare business cases for decision making
Maintain functional synergies with Sourcing function across Novartis NBS and NTO External Supply and lead collaboration with 3rd Parties for Purchasing Best Practice sharing to generate savings/value creation opportunities
Maintain the contracts database and prepare key term sheets to highlight agreements milestones, financial exposure and main clauses
Responsibility of Master Data accuracy in collaboration with Service Centers:
- Material Master, Pricing, SAP Value Contracts, Source Lists
- Yearly standard pricing updates
- Workflows for quantities and prices deviations
Assure Responsible Procurement and financial compliance in alignment with Supplier Code and NFCM requirements
Bridge R&D agreements and commercial supply agreements in collaboration with TRD
Technical Degree with additional qualification in Economics or vice versa
English (fluent) and any other European Language (min. intermediate)
Minimum of 8-10 years managerial experience in an operational environment, especially pharmaceutical manufacturing or 10+ years of Procurement experience, 5+ years in the healthcare industry or equivalent. Significant leadership experience.
