Working for Cargill’s European poultry business, which is a leading supplier of food products to retail, foods service and food manufacturing customers, in both European and global markets. The role will be based at our newly opened Worcester offices.
This role provides the opportunity for an individual to participate in many activities across a global supply chain and the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge of quotas and licenses. The position holder will manage the quota application and license process for the Import side of the business. Tasks will include determining and monitoring the quota volumes available, allocating and tracking the return and reconciliation of all quota licenses. This position will also need to manage the track record qualification for all Shell companies, and the trading of quota licenses with third party companies.
Managing Cargill owned and third party quota licenses to include license call-off, sales to third parties, broker instructions, and buy-backs
Tracking the physical locations of each license and ensuring their return to the relevant government agency
Buy/sell back license administration, netting sales and purchase order transactions in SAP
Managing the operation of Cargill’s Shell companies, ensuring the qualification and track record processes are tightly controlled with volumes processed by the imposed deadlines
Vigorous document collection of invoices and customs documents to prepare proof of trade
Monthly quota applications for all qualifying companies for relevant product groups
Liaising with the Cargill treasury department to place guarantees for all quota activities over a period of 8 out of 12 months
Monitoring, releasing and reconciling of guarantees, whilst communicating with Government Authorities
Assimilating and comprehending the knowledge required for Quota management
Education to A level or equivalent qualification
Experience working in a supply chain environment is strongly preferred
Working in a quota environment and global supply chain would be advantageous but not essential
Full proficiency with Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel at an intermediate or above level
Understanding/ prior experience of SAP
Numerate, highly motivated and able to work under pressures and to tight deadlines, whilst ensuring daily tasks are accurately completed on time
Analytical ability to problem solve, identify root cause of problems and provide solutions to improve business processes
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in fluent English
