The CASC EMEA Supply Chain planner is responsible for the medium and long term planning coordination for a network within the region as well as if applicable the short term capacity planning for asset(s). This considers a complex of products (i.e. multiple products) for one or multiple assets or countries. This includes: supply chain planning operations, process development, planning & execution, customer & client interaction / business partnership, systems/data management, reporting & analysis, and in minor extent may include people, talent & budget management. The purpose of the job is to coordinate and align the planning with the commercial family and the other supply chain processes (customer service, execution, logistics) and create added value to the business by looking further ahead and bringing various parts of information and people together.
The supply chain planner has an holistic view on a set of products and makes sure the medium and long term planning are guaranteed and confirmed with the commercial team. The planner is an active sparring partner for commercial for the planning of the physical product(s) as well as the Mass Balance for Sustainability and will provide the necessary input to commercial team on supply chain constraints and opportunities, in order to make the right business decisions.
Liaise with Customer Service and Execution team to establish the short term plan and monitor the execution of the short term plan (scheduling).
Monitors and manages capacity of inventory in relation to demand of customer orders for multiple products and outside storage facilities. When needed, contributes to decision for how and when to modify the original forecast and plan with some oversight from manager.
Sets stock levels (safety stock) and monitors inventory health for multiple products, along with managing the quality of the products. Provides a healthy and reasonable planning to customer service and execution colleagues who do the short term scheduling.
Coordinates and executes the forecasting of various products. Interprets processes, and works with stakeholders to explain and refine it.
In case of deficiencies or surplus in the long term pipeline of the products, the supply chain planner coordinates the way to resolve it, involve the required stakeholders and establish a plan to execute.
Uses thorough knowledge of supply chain planning practices and procedures to validate, coordinate, and execute sales and operations plans and other supply chain strategies that will become available in the near future.
Detailed review of costs and impacts due to decisions taken in the network – looking at a cost optimization point of view for an entire network of products
Managing stock optimization for multiple products, ensure throughput, utilization rate are optimized and in control. Regular review of the KPI’s to proactively propose ideas to better utilize the storage capacities.
Assists in the management of improvement projects and commitments requiring a comprehensive understanding of supply chain planning practices and procedures.
Reviews channel capacity on a daily basis, and develops plan in case of gaps in order to minimize cost to serve and impact to customers. Communicates with all relevant stakeholders in the process using a comprehensive understanding of supply chain planning practices and procedures.
Takes a coordinator role to define the supply chain plan and align with internal stakeholders (e.g. sales, plant operations, CTL and procurement) on the impact of the supply chain plan.
Support the evolution within the planning process for developing tools/systems and relationships that supports accurate capacity planning, as well as other databases within the business related to shipments and inventory management items.
Tracks and analyses KPIs (key performance indicators) for multiple products or sites, as provided by the planning process manager – responsible to generate meaningful numbers for the complex and be able to explain them, monitor them and challenge stakeholders in order to obtain better outcome.
With minimal oversight, conducts ad hoc analysis and reports. For example: budgeting, plan vs. actual, etc.
Actively prepare, participate in and coordinate S&OP meetings once the business implements S&OP/IBP.
May provide informal coaching and/or training to coordinators of the planning and other processes in supply chain or e.g. management trainees of other job families.
University degree or equivalent or relevant experience
3-5 years of relevant work experience in Supply Chain/Planning or relevant supply chain experience
Proven track record in delivering improvements in the area of SC Planning (e.g. cost savings, service improvement, additional revenue creation)
Experience in a S&OP/IBP environment a plus
Food/feed/agri environment experience/knowledge a plus
Experience in a process driven environment a plus
Fluent in English and Local Language (additional regional language is a plus)
Basic knowledge of process and production steps and ‘general’ plant lay-outs / restrictions
Basic knowledge of different transport modalities and restrictions
Having a proper sense of urgency (know when/how to step in)
Being able to influence people in different locations and departments, with different cultures and backgrounds
Be comfortable with level of independency and decision making authority.
Accurate monitoring on costs, budgets, output, sales demand, inventories
Understanding of implications of all relevant internal processes and procedures on stakeholders (logistics, planning, execution)
