Supply Chain Manager
Would you like to be involved in proactively supporting project development and defining milestones within departments? We currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Manager at our site in Barrow.
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be required to work closely with cross functional teams in order to ensure suppliers deliver in line with business needs and expectations.
This role will provide you with good progression opportunities into senior management positions. BAE Systems ensure to conduct regular discussions to review opportunities.
Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain Manager will involve:
Delivering the product by ensuring that direct reports have purpose and clarity and are empowered to meet key delivery targets within an acceptable timescale and budget
Helping to deliver key strategies, policies and procedures that enhance product quality and customer satisfaction
Working cross functionally in order to ensure achievement of key knowledge transfer and deployment of best working practices across the business
Managing behaviours to ensure they are conducive to the required business culture, maintaining a united and professional image
Managing own contracts in conjunction with activities listed above
Your skills and qualifications as a Supply Chain Manager:
Hold or working towards MCIPS
People Management skills from supporting challenging stakeholders
Good knowledge of placing and managing contracts
Experience of planning and prioritising team workloads
Proven track record in financial management with forecasting/spend
Previous experience in conducting supplier performance issues and working with supplier to address short falls
Flexibility to support business requirements including travel and visits to key suppliers
Good knowledge of SAP, Team Center would be desirable

Maritime – Submarines
Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.
Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.
