Based from their facility in Tyne & Wear but working with sister sites throughout the UK and internationally, this is a key role in the management team.
The successful candidate will ensure a robust supply chain strategy is in place to support and enhance the commercial goals of the business, while leading a team purchasing and supply chain professionals to ensure all operational requirements of the supply chain structure are delivered, developed and enhanced.
With a demonstrable track record of success within complex, international supply chain structures, the Supply Chain Manager will promote, develop and embed a continuous improvement culture across the team that stimulates lean principles, high performance and ultimately drives value across all aspects of the supply chain.
Providing stewardship to all aspects of the supply of goods, materials and services in support of achieving business goals, the role requires an individual who has the technical credibility to ensure performance across all key indicators including but not limited to budget, cost, quality and delivery are achieved.
With excellent influencing and negotiation skills, applications are encouraged from those people who maintain productive, partnership based relationships with all stakeholders, internally and externally, with a view to maximising value for all.
Applications should have CIPS qualification and demonstrate continued professional development, supported by experience gained in a complex international engineering and/or manufacturing environment. Candidates will have excellent sourcing and procurement expertise, as there is a bias towards this area of supply chain in function and business priorities.
An adept communicator able to present information at all levels in a clear, simple and understandable way, the Supply Chain Manager must be able to interact with the wider operational teams to ensure the supply chain function is fully integrated. Continuous improvement experience in theory and practice is essential, working in cross functional teams to deliver enhanced performance. Advanced IT skills, working with MRP/ERP platforms and an interest in the use of technology to develop performance, applications are encouraged from individuals with an inquisitive mind, who are innovative and happy to challenge the status quo.
