Leads and provides direction to managers and indirect staff, provides leadership for all chocolate supply chain activities across Europe. These activities include: supply chain operations, process development, planning & execution, customer & client interaction / business partnership, systems / data management & reporting, people, talent & budget, claim handling (customer claims and transport claims), procure to pay.
Will support the further transition from product- to process-focused organization, enabling a step-change with regard to customer satisfaction, performance and talent development, while guaranteeing business continuity.
Leadership, Talent & Budget
Accountable for performance management, talent development, recruitment, succession planning and engagement directly and through subordinate managers and supervisors;
Manages and provides coaching and/or training to the team, including coaching Cargill core values. Provides oversight to subordinate managers and supervisors in the selection of staff and other employees; determines resource need, plans for future workforce needs and approves selection decisions;
Active member of the RLT (Regional Leadership Team) of CCC chocolate Europe.
Customer & Client Interaction / Business Partnership
Oversees the management of contacts within the commercial team, operations, Cargill Transportation & Logistics and Cargill BOSC (Business Operations and Supply Chain) organization to ensure team is managing stakeholders efficiently;
Champions the development of innovative supply chain solutions through applying an expert understanding of supply chain practices and procedures;
Leads and contributes to cross-functional product line teams in follow-up, investigation and documentation of internal and external non-conformances, root causes and corrective actions.
Customer Service / Planning / Sourcing Execution / Transport & Logistics
Oversees and provides strategic leadership and integration of multiple areas in the Cargill supply chain such as customer service, supply chain planning, inbound (sourcing execution) and transportation & logistics;
Provides broad oversight and guidance to the Business for ensuring customer expectations are met from raw material/ingredients supply and planning through order fulfillment;
Champions and develops the proper set-up to enable closer interfaces between relevant SC leads and counterparts at key customers;
Authorizes measures to improve on customer reliability and service level agreements as well as action plans to improve on customer experience;
Applies an expert understanding of supply chain practices and procedures to develop and implement IBP (Integrated Business Planning);
Evaluates and executes this demand/capacity plan for the business and communicates with the sales organization, plant operations and the supply chain leadership team through means of the monthly RCCP (Rough Cut Capacity Planning) and SR (Supply Review);
Oversees the transport and logistics (warehouse) budget and provides leadership in launching initiatives enabling working capital improvements in SC related areas as well as cost efficiencies in the SC domain.
Systems/Data Management, Reporting & Analysis
Provides strategic definition to projects and process improvements in the supply chain organization to drive continuous improvement to excellence standards;
Provides leadership to team on the management of supply chain systems and tools used within their area, including business intelligence solutions;
Derives from those metrics’ initiatives for performance improvement of a nature that eliminates root causes for sub-optimal scoring or unnecessary costs.
Over 5 years’ experience in leading Supply Chain teams/organizations;
Experience with working in a complex, multinational/-cultural environment;
Leadership experience (managing through others, influencing, developing) – 5 years proven track record;
Experience and knowledge of Integrated Supply Chain Processes;
Experience and proven track record in project management (broad scope and cross-functional) is a plus;
Strong analytical skills, process minded;
Continuous Improvement mindset, knowledge/experience of Lean/Six Sigma is a plus;
Flexible, strong at (diverse) stakeholder management;
Affinity with customs, insurance and cocoa trade execution (FCC and Incoterms) is a plus.
