My client is a leading manufacturing and production company looking to recruit on a temporary basis a Temporary Project Buyer to join their team on a rolling contract basis based in Southampton.
The key responsibilities for the Temporary Project Buyer Role based in Southampton are:
*Willing to take a steering role in the local project supply chain team as well as a contributor in day to day operational buying activities.
*Working with the relevant APC's to implement the One supply chain strategy.
*Ensure clear visibility for the team in terms of assigned projects and workload.
*Establish, limit, maintain and develop the supplier matrix portfolio in consultation with strategic procurement, engineering, operations and service.
*Drive continuos improvement within the supply base and deliver cost reduction and quality enhancement projects.
*Monitor, drive and improve upon KPI's; report spend data to Global Operations.
The successful candidate for the Temporary Project Buyer role based in Southampton will have the following skill set:
*Graduate background with extensive Knowledge in an operational procurement environment, preferably in mechanical / electrical engineering with a project bias.
*You must have a good technical insight or have worked closely within project and engineering teams before.
*You must have an effective understanding of how business works, competent negotiation and commercial skills, and able to work and perform at a fast pace with minimal supervision.
*A self starter, you will have very good organisation, communication/presenting skills and like to work with people in a cross cultural, matrix environment.
*Fluent in other languages is an advantage. Knowledge of MS Office applications and of ERP systems
*Willingness to travel on a regular basis.
