We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Operations Team Manager with the responsibility for the shift operations within Primary Transport and ensuring the smooth operation of the administration team on behalf of Kuehne + Nagel Drinks Logistics
KN Drinks Logistics is a wholly owned business within the KN group, providing a national platform for the distribution of drinks and associated services to retail outlets across the UK. The shift pattern is primarily 12 hour day shifts Friday to Monday.
Provide effective management of a team to meet all objectives and targets set, making optimum use of the resources available on the shift and promoting a flexible approach to delivering business requirements.
Ensure effective communications are developed between the department on site and through collaboration with the customer ensure all KPI’s are achieved and met.
Achieve KPI's through effective use of resources and management of staff. Meet deadlines set by others for submission of KPI and cost management.
Taking a proactive approach to ensure grievance/disciplinary matters are resolved and controlling sickness/absence through effectve use of policies, procedures
Adhering to Driver Regulations and Drivers Hours Legislation - WTD legislation and Digital tachograph legislation; Monitoring and strictly adhering to tractor and trailer services and MOT's - legal compliances and DVSA demands.
Managing a computerised traffic systems - GTS, ESP and Telematics + others that maybe developed in the future. Controlling the issuing and recording of all fuel looking into MPG
Understanding and managing all aspects of vehicle maintenance, contract and non-contract costs.
Manage the departments H&S operations and carry out Accident Investigations procedures to a high level of compliance and within set timescales.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
Previous line management experience - 3rd party logistics preferable.
Knowledge of Transport Operations and Compliance.
SAP experience and financial awareness.
Experience use of Microsoft
CPC qualification or industry recognised qualification preferable,
Good customer facing skills
Ability to handle a fast paced environment with deadlines to be met
