A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Manager to join our site in Derby. They will be a member of the Operations Team and be responsible for:

• Representing the Company and Operations values and communicating these to the team
• Safe operation of the warehouse, storage and loading areas including a focus on the safe operation of mobile plant
• Engaging the department to facilitate improvement activities
• Coaching and training to ensure the required balance of skills are available and to increase accountability and autonomous working
• Labour planning to meet an, often, volatile demand
• Maintenance of internal customer service levels to agreed KPIs
• Adherence to the agreed incoming and outgoing delivery plans within agreed costs

Ensuring excellent people management is a key part of this role and the role holder will have high levels of accountability and pro-actively action improvements in the areas of responsibility and in the wider organisation (if required)

Key Challenges

• Challenging poor performance and personal behaviours in all areas and taking agreed actions when agreed
• Raising safety performance in all areas especially the use of mobile plant and storage equipment
• Proactively identifying improvements and actioning with all stakeholders
• Managing a large team across a 24/7 shift
• Improve accountability at all levels and empower the team
• Ensure 2 way communications focus on feedback and engagement
• Identifying and implementing warehousing process improvements within agreed constraints

Skills & Qualities

Is this you?

• Graduate level (or equivalent) with +5 years a team, ideally in a FMCG environment
• At least 2 years experience in a logistics based role
• Trained ERP system user (ideally SAP
• Career-focused with strong desire to take on additional responsibilities over 1-2 years
• Strong interpersonal and mentoring/coaching skills.
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• People management experience.
• Achievement focused and able to work in a direct and often pressurised environment
• Entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem solving are key along with tenacity, tough-mindedness and ability to influence and demonstrate strong team working abilities and commitment
