It’s January – and strike season is already well underway. India has seen two days of widespread strikes, with dockworkers and truck drivers taking part. However, according to Ti, so far ports and airports have remained largely unaffected – although the port of Kochin is said to have been disrupted. In Europe, reports ATW, hundreds of flights were impacted yesterday in Germany, where airport security workers are on strike, while Italy’s air traffic controllers are stopping work for four hours today. Local strikes will take place at control centres covering Rome, Milan and Brindisi, as well as at airports in Milan, Catania, Turin, Genoa, Perugia and Pescara.
